Edit My Complaint note to Malaysia Airport Berhad and Fireflyz :Subject:Safety concerns at Penang International airport and Fireflyz

Email was sent on the 1st November 2011 2300hrs

Subject:Safety concerns at Penang International airport and Fireflyz groundcrew rudeness with passengers

To whom it may concern,

I arrived Penang airport on flight FY 2098 from Subang airport to Penangat 2240hrs and it was raining. Being a frequent patron to Penang airport,I am aware that the airport is under construction. The plane was parkedon the apron near Gate 12 and we were not ushered to the designated passengerroute toward to the arrival gate, until late a Fireflyz ground staff usheredus through machinaries and generators. Knowing passengers who doesntwear safety shows, Malaysian airports should ensure the safety of passengersgoing through the equipments and generators, with water puddles on theapron which makes it worst if there are live generator with leak currents. What MAHB should do, is to put proper baricades and signages which is clearlyvisible to passengers especially at night and during this raining seasons.

The Fireflyz ground crew should at least ensure passengers safety, eventhoughit is MAHB's responsibility to prepare the infrastructure, but i got arude reply by a woman FIreflyz's ground staff that it was ot her responsibilityof the apron's hazard's. She was wearing a black Fireflyz polo t-shirt.And i could hear her radio conversation in the teminal building about meraising the safety issue of unsafe act! And it was not her matter to address.

Again, i have to point out, safety is everyone responsibility and not demarkingwhos who is responsible. But as a passenger who is always being usheredto new route to the arrival gates at all different flights, i do not expectthe Penang ground staff to assume all passengers know their exit ways.

Yes, it is dissapointing for me to be greated like that on a internationalairport and a reknown community airline ground staff that safety is beinglooked lightly. I hope the management should do necessary action on ensuringpassengers safety during construction and the crew's atitude to help passengerstheir way to exit safely

As a Rakyat: Political amusement in the Opposition ring.

I was so amused seeing the Opposition party (PKR, DAP and PAS) trying to show how they do work and wanting to shine out to the Rakyat that they can make the CHANGE. Well, I have to say, they have done a great job of making a fool out of themselves. Why do i say that?

Recent claims by PKR that the Feedstock corporation linked to Dato Sharizat Jalil is mis-using the Govt Loan funds to aquire 2 Nos of Hi End condominiums in Bangsar. And it was not appropriate and should put the money in the bank instead. Well, for a big corporation like that, to utilised such amount of fund should get the consent of the board of directors. And of course, a GLC like that, a Govt representative should attend to the BOD meetings and gave the greenlight? correct? Plus, as an investor (well, im still new to be a seasoned investor), one should know that savings in Banks and reaping 3-5% interest rate is so little amount compared to getting a yeild profit of 10-12% a year. Also, if PKR and PAS is soo into Islamic Syariah compliance, interest rate is RIBA!.. Haram to use it for ownselve, but it is needed to distribute the interest to Baitulmal and community. What will the DAP friends say if all the money gives to Baitulmal? UnFAIR...Better read Robert Kiyosaki's book, that savings is the thing of the PAST..

Another thing i realised after 4 years of Political Tsunami, most PR lead states, doesnt give a HUGE change or impact in the society, but 80% of their time is blaming the previous government. PENANG claiming to get UNESCO herritage status was the job of PREVIOUS govt, and not PRESENT govt. What CHANGE has the DAP led state brings to PENANG? Yes I do see some changes, like free water (its being balanced with higher quit rent and local taxes), hikes on Real Estate price, and I do know some Bumiputera contractors were not paid or delaying their payment because they were choosen by BN led govt in the past. Well, being professional, we do pay for job well done or acceptablily completed. Also, what else DAP has bring forth for the Penang people since they took power? Ouh, another funny story announced by LGE, to build few new highways and a tunnel from main land to Gurney drive amounting RM8billion. Where the heck you getting that much money from? Well, he said, from land deals and from Fed Govt. Again, you are relying on BN Govt to give you money. Where have the money collected from Penang tax goes to? Another funny story is that, the tendering process would take a year to complete. I have never heard of 1 year tendering process being made. The cost of construction if being hold will escalate 8% a year if you delay it till its award... Shows how uneconomically educated these people are. That 8 billion will be different in a years time my friend.

The usage of ink to mark you have voted on the voting day. OK, whats a big deal of this ink one may ask. It shows that you have done your voting and there wont be any repeating voting by the same person using a phanthom name. OK, thats a good move, I agree, 1 person, 1 vote, because we're 1Malaysia, rite?.. Anyways, why do we need to buy such ink from INDIA or SRI LANKA? and Why cant we just asked or appoint Malaysian ink manufacturers to supply them? I do smell some fishes here.. Another thing is, if we are applauding to change to better Malaysia like the Europeans (bless their souls after bad economic crisis) and the Americans, lets look, whether thay have used or are they using Ink to indicate their vote? As far as I can remember during my days in the UK, they dont use ink but normal ballot papers or using computer to cast their votes. Of course, with very advance sophasticated security measure to ensure the voting process are fair and correct. So why are we going for ink again and not going for thumb print? Are we going backwards rather than forward???

As a Rakyat, I do want improvements in Malaysia, the the Greater Better Malaysia. Everyone lives in harmony, prosper and happy. We tend to take things for granted for what we have, but we could improve much more from the peering developing countries. We are encourage to look in the past to learn our mistakes but not to blame others which has happened in the past. We cant control Mother Nature nor the World economic movements, but being a Malaysian, and I know we can, we can adapt to change and still live in harmony and work together to achieve the goal of being developed country. Also, I do hope, we, Malaysian earn as proportionate as the inflation. Govt is doing all they can to make that happen. Just that we do need to understand the big picture and all aspect of the issue, and not just getting too emotional on the surface of the problem. These petty issues cant be presented to the newer generations of voters, probably in the PAST yes, but not today's

Malaysia, i do hope we MOVE FORWARD for progress of a better nation, keeping the tempo and achieve being a developed country and an envy of other countries how we grow as rapid as today!

I need a break!

Yes, really, I need a rest, some time to re-coup, refresh, re-aligned myself to my upmost being.

For the past year, I guess I have dedicated myself to my job 150% and neglected a lot of thing, especially to myself. But that self satisfaction upon completion of the job really pays. Now I just need to enjoy the fruits of labour and, yes, rest!

Ouuhhhhh bilaaa kaahhhhhh!

But soon definately

Stay positive, optimistic and Move Forward!!..

If I were to describe about myself, I would say, I can be placed
anywhere and take up to the challenge. Someone once told me,"if you
put Sheridan anywhere,he will survive, even at the cold atlantic seas
or thhe hot Sahara dessert".. Yea,I guess I can adapt to somewhere
somehow and these challenges makes me keep on going forward. Like my
pevious status title on Facebook, I wrote,"Sheridan is being
positive, optimistic and MOVING FORWARD".. If I couldn't be positive, I
might not suceed to stand strong to a challenge. And if I'm not
optimistic, I won't be able to solve the problem. Thus, we shouldn't
dwell tooooooooooooo muchh about the past, we need to get it done
safely, functionally and practically to move forward.

I might say, I do need a lil bit of balls to be that. But in this
world,we do have 3 types of people, the agressive, the look and see
and the followers. For me, I guess I'm a lil bit of all three. But
then again,it contradicts my status just now. Hmmm,I don't know, what
do you think.

I always say to myself, "never be tooo comfortable in the daily
routine" because why, I just don't want to be complecent. Last night,I
was talking to my friend, we see a lot of people in the company
progress upwards, but both of us were going behind. And I did told
him, we need to take a step behind to learn about those problems, we
might end up moving 2 steps forwards once we dealt the 1 step
backwards. It makes us more stronger and knowledgable.

For me,I don't like to stuck in a stuffy room of aircond space with
few nicely dressed collegues but I like to be with the
workers, understand their problem and analyse those problems to make it
work before implementing it to the ground. Solving problems remotely
will never work and won't resolve the problem efficiently. Decision
are made there and then. So what's my point? The point is, need to
get ourselves a foot into the problem like anyone else to get it done.
People appreciates that.

There's nothing wrong with problems really. Its how you deal with it
and make your way round it, but you need to understand the problem,
getting yourself adapting to the environment, never give up yet, and
make it work. These are just part and parcel of the hurdles of your
life.

So always be positive, optimistic and Move Forward!!..

Open up your mind....

It's hard to get someone in your life to be open and would accept you or your ideas of life.. Very rare to be meeting these people, somehow open up your mind and could listen and digest a lil bit of what you might be thinking or doing..

Tackle problems in life as a rounded ball.. Theres no exact sides to get the answer... its always trial and error.. if you cant get this way..try the other way to get it fix. But always need to know how round the ball is and what is all about.. In other words, need to understand the magnitude of the problem and what is the root of the problem to tackle it.. If you try to kick the ball away, it will bounced back to you harrd...

But human minds are very narrow most of the times. We only see one side of the surface and do not want to dwell into indepth. Thats the biggest mistake most of us have. Even we tried multiple times to solve the problems, we ought to seek help from others.. Others might have gone through a similar problem in the past and some lesson learned to get it fix... and most often, the solution will be out of your mind or would be the opposite of your views.

We shouldnt instantly brush away those valuable opinions. Its just an opinion from someone that see the problem from the outside into in.. And we normally see the problem from the inside out... It may take a painful step to solve it.. No medicine in this world is so sweet, but the most effective medicine has always been the bitter ones.

An opinion for me is something valuable. It makes me realised something that I have not realised by my own. Sometimes, people would point out the same thing as we have thought off, but again, dont brushed them aside...its marely a reminder.. A check that we have done it or not... But also, some problems are caused by ourselves.. And we refuse to admit the mistakes...Why??..Ego...

People from outside would tend to say that the ego blinds us.. And its true.. We should handled it in a properly manner... We accept it.. and we appologise to the person and thank him for his/her opinion.. If we agree his opinion, smile and walk away and change or improve yourself... but if we disagrees their opinion, again, Thank them for their kind thoughts with NOT in sacarstic manner, but in the most humble attitude and walk off...

So be open mind, get as much views and try to debate it in the most positive manner, try to digest it for food for thoughts... and somehow, somewhere, we will use that idea to solve other problems as well..

everybody has 24 hours in a day

Written 14th APR 2010

What does you and me and the guy across the street have in common? Its the time we have in a day, 24 hours and no more or less.

But why everyone always complain there's no time? No time to do this or that in a given time? The difference between you and me and the guy across the street is how we manage time, or how we prioritise our task, job or work. But if we can't managed it nicely, of course, there's no time to get the job done.

So how do we manage time? Well, its not easy firstly. You nee to understand the stake or the weight of the job/task, easy? Hard? Will it take me a long time to do? Or just a short while? How much money involved? Or how will the next person will react to it if I delayed it? Those are the questions you need to ask yourself, then you'll know to allocate time. Another factor to manage time is being realistic. Can I finish it in 2 hours or will I reach to that congested area in 10minutes? We tend to forget about suprises along the way, the risk we might face, so give some ample time for yourself to get it done.

Then, another question you need to ask is, can I finish it in one day? To understand a human being, we tend to have a good concentration or focus only 45 min in an hour, and you will need at LEAST 15min break!! Then some lunch and tea break to keep the tummy digest some power to give the brain some energy. But don't restrict yourself on food and water.

We also need to think about our family. They too need some of our time. Honour the working times as you should and never bring work back during family time. Family are priority, and they will be with you through thick and thin but work will come and go. Friends too need to be allocated some time. Just to get your mind out from the stress and tense of work. Some might not think the stress at work doesn't I've any impact to your personal life, but it sure does! Big time!

Lastly, don't you ever forget to give some time for yourself. Relax, and enjoy the evening. Get yourself to the gym or take a nice stroll in the evening to get some fresh air (it doesn't really true if you live in the polluted city isn't it? :)). Simple pleasure if you could not affod an expensive holiday. Just go fishing!

And yes, enough and ample time to SLEEP. It gives some chance and opportunity for the body to repair itself. The beauty of human body,it regenerates itself, but you need to relax and do nothing! Sleep I tell you

So, do we still have no time in a day? I don't think you and I or the guy across the street have more or less time in a day? So manage your time wisely and balance it with work, family and friends and most important of all,for yourself

Remember, we all have 24 hours a day

It's not how long you live but how you spend your life

Written 13th APRIL 2010

I like the quote so much and it's so true. If you live long and just have an ordinary boring life, then if you reflect back, you might regret the things that you might have done but you didn't do it. But if you have done it, and take all the risk, you have at least achieved something in life and you or someone can tell a story about the things you have done, like a biography or somehow turn out to be a legend!

Anyways, live your life to the fullest, and enjoy your life to what you have dream on wanting to do

Is this a political circus act?

Written on the 7th April 2010

I always wonder, why Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) is trying to proof, he is being slapped multiple court charges and multiple appeals but still he is telling the world he is innocent. I doubt people would easily give him lawsuit if he is innocent and I doubt if its a part of high conspirasy. High echelon conspirasy would definately do other means of ways to topple DSAI. Sometimes I feel these allegations and lawsuits is being fabricated by DSAI or his camp themselves to gain attention and symphaty.

In Islam, we are told to be thruthfull and be brave of truth. But if he has evidence, hve solid proof of allegations,he should bring forth these claims he made. But at the same time,it backfired back to him. I think DSAI should put a stop on making false claims and concentrate on updating the laws which are old with the present goverment. PKR has Selangor since last election and I failed to see any vast improvement in economics or lifestyle but instead bickering the past governance's wrong doing. IF PR and DSAI are sincere for Malaysia, prove that PR are as good as BN in handling issues. UMNO and other BN component didn't rule Malaysia overnight but gradually from the British. But in this case, PR party should focus on the states under them and make other states envy the ways PR has manages these states.

However, PKR and PR parties focus on wrong doing of last govt and bickering on PM's programs which are far sound and concrete. Why will the rakyat choose PR again if they can't perform? 2 yrs more is not a long time to go, and as a rakyat, I want progress and not problems with empty promises promised during the last election. And I don't want my children's children suffer from this circus act.

This is my 2 cent and if you are not happy for what I have written, I am terribly sorry

It takes two to change and not just the Rakyat

Malaysians has been called to endure a step change after indecisive Prime Minister has announced the increase of fuel prices in Malaysia. Its something for the best as what the Prime Minister has spoken to press after being considered as his political suicidal.

It’s true for Malaysian to have change in the way of living and I have to agree, Malaysian were being comfortable enough to not appreciate the fuel prices in the past. However that is not the case.

The subsidy that previously enjoyed by Malaysian was actually a REBATE, which Petronas has given to Malaysian as a form of paying back to the government on their profits. That was always the case since the formation of Petronas since 1974. Previous government thought, it was a good idea to make it such way as it will boost and actually make the economy flow. How?

The Rakyat was not burden with the price of fuel, and it could actually make other stuff to be affordable. Transportation cost to ferry goods from one place to another would be minute and the Rakyat would be able to by food at the groceries stores at affordable price. The Rakyat too would enjoy driving on the North South Expressway (NSE) and visit other states or frequently go back to their hometown with affordable fuel mileage. Although the Rakyat would need to pay the toll to be able to use the roads, with its easy assessable and would generate the income of the local community by the tourism ticket. Local community too could go to work to the urban places by accessible by road because their price f house or rental is much more lower than in the cities.

Now, with the fuel prices increased, definitely the transportation cost would be increased as well and clearly stated by the businessmen that the cost would be translated to the consumers. People now won’t be traveling that often to other small cities. Apart from the fuel price increase, people won’t be assessable as they could use to because insufficient public transport. What could I say about the safety of that public transportation that we have in Malaysia? Buses plunged into ravine, the emergency door opens while the bus is moving, being molested or rape in the busses and trains.

It can be insignificant to the Government that all these potential scenarios would happened to the rakyat, because how often you see the government official be on public transportation? How often would you see that a minister would pump petrol at the same petrol station that you always pumped at?

The public transport in Malaysia need to be passenger friendly, easy accessible, and affordable. Various network on land, rail and air transportation is essential to cover all areas in Malaysia, whether it is in the city or whether it is in the interior states of Malaysia. Frequent trains to intercity or interstates are needed badly to move people from other states or city to work in the high cost of living city.

Vast bus transportation network which covers all sub-urban residential to ferry them to their work place is badly needed without compromising safety and of course, despite the price hike, the ticket prices should be affordable for the Rakyat to actually use the bus, trains and airplanes. Mass quantity of people using the public transport would definitely offset the operating cost in the long run.

So, what do we need to change actually?

  • Yes, Mentality of people and these people includes the MINISTERS and also the government officials.

  • Public transportation shall be safe, effective, efficient and assessable. Intensive rail network where you can even book online with travel packages as the European train companies do. Those rail networks is being served by bus networks whichever areas not covered by rails. And with this connectivity are being charged with a single ticket. You will reach the destination without even worrying being left by the bus.

  • The government needs to control inflation by controlling the price hike such as transportation cost, the food cost and other related items with the oil and gas prices.

  • Then government official need to be as same level as the Rakyat. Taking the public transport, living the same quality of life as the Rakyat are, and being pay taxes like any others would do.

SO, how would government generate income?

  • Easy, hire more economist, more professionals like engineers, doctors, lawyers to actually do the work and no just talk and draft resolutions until the next term.

  • Put aside personal interest, including the Prime Minister himself, because in life, leaders are deem to be leading by example.

  • The government needs to change their strategy to woo foreign investor to invest in this competitive market with China and India booming with lower labour cost. Malaysia needs to be a value adder provider to these two countries to sustain. It’s not to compete, but to work co operatively with these two giants towards being developed nation.

  • Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers, Government officials, and also Members of Parliaments need to cut down with their pay salary and all those luxury allowances. 10% cut does not justifies with the 40% price increase, if the governments’ reason to cut down subsidy and continue with progress. Bare in mind, progress will not produce outcome overnight, therefore the salary and allowance cut shall be until the economic or new leadership is in place.

It is a balanced where both, the government and the Rakyat need to play. However for the time being, the Rakyat is feeling the pinch by itself. Someone in the government or parliament needs to stop bickering on with Petronas and move ahead to find a solution. MPs and ministers should think of the future and not redeemed the past. Enough with the past, we shouldn’t look 22 years ago, but we should definitely look last 8 years. Do we actually progress? Or did we just stay stagnant since our last premiership? So, changes are definitely good for all, if everyone plays the role, from the top, till the grassroots.

Comments

Hi sheridansulik, you mentioned: "The subsidy that previously enjoyed by Malaysian was actually a REBATE, which Petronas has given to Malaysian as a form of paying back to the government on their profits." Who owns Petronas?
Hi, thanks for the comment,

Petronas is owned by the shareholders, comprising a lot of parties and also it is a public listed company (for its subsidaries like Dagangan and Carigali)> Petronas itself is reporting to The PM straight.

Bare in mind, this is not about Petronas, its about how the country being managed. You are taking one feet out and left somethig else crumbling down without doing another support.

Also to take note, if we rely on 30% of income from Petronas for our country's development, that 30% wont be available all the time as fossil fuel are depleting by the day. The Gov need to think an alternative to gain income for the country, for example U.A.E (Dubai), promoting tourism because knowing their oil and gas reserve will last 15 years or less.

Therefore, We shouldnt depend on Petronas solely, we need a good governance to manage our country to be a developed and prosperous country.

What was the POINT?

Were 6000 plus people a significant number to pressure the government on the global effected oil prices? Were there any significant technocrat, or economist presence during the “PROTES” Rally? From the feedbacks, it seems to be a gathering in a field with men and women in Red. Stalls selling memorabilia and there were concerts in the evening. Then PKR's leaders giving speeches.. What was the purpose? I do not see the point. I rather be in Danga Bay to be with the “Jom Heboh” carnival and watch Anuar Zain and others performed.

How could Dr Hatta says that people were demonstrated their angriness last Sunday would budge the government to cap the fuel price back again like in the past? And he did say he that with this issue, it may topple the government. Hmm, with 6000 voters and let the other voters in black what kind of mitigation ways to solve the problem of global fuel price issue.

The people shouldn’t do demonstration to the government if the intention to pressure the government. Acting like hooligans, and being physical is not the democratic way in the civil world or from the Islamic world as what PAS tried to preach. I agree with the Mufti of Perlis, if you are civilized, and a Muslim, all leaders need to sit down around the same table and “DISCUSS” on how to improve the situation. A common ground needs to be achieved.

And if those leaders are civilized enough, they wont bicker and argue but to think how to solve the problem together. Rakyat today do not care who will win or who is clean, but the Rakyat wants some “WORK” to be done.

Remember, the fuel price issue is GLOBAL, not Petronas or The Malaysian government issue. If we want to protest the ever-escalating fuel price, reduce the “Demand” to meet the available “supply” in the supply and demand golden rule, and not just hanging out in the middle of a field. Again, walk the talk and not just shout and do nothing.
